THE Prime Minister’s economic address in Melbourne has been crashed by protesters.
A protester holding a sign reading “FFS close the bloody camps†even made it onto the stage at the Grand Hyatt.
The Centre for Economic Development address was being broadcast on several channels but the audio was cut shortly after the protesters stormed the room.
Six protesters interrupted the prime minister during the incident, with at least one wearing a media pass. Security at the hotel event was low key.
Mr Turnbull was forced to temporarily abandon his speech as the protesters were dragged away by security staff.
One woman yelled out “you’re hurting me†as security staff bundled her out of the Grand Hyatt’s ballroom.
Mr Turnbull paused for a minute or two then resumed his speech while the last protester was removed.
