THE estranged wife of former Auburn Deputy Mayor Salim Mehajer is expected to have an apprehended violence order against her husband withdrawn, a court has heard.
The lawyer for the flamboyant property developer told Downing Centre Local Court this morning that the AVO taken out by police on behalf of Aysha April Learmonth may be withdrawn and the parties were in discussions.
“It is likely to be resolved without any further evidence†lawyer Matt Ward said.
He asked for the case to be adjourned to Wollongong Local Court next month where a second AVO against Mehajer, taken out by police on behalf of Ms Learmonth’s brother Ben Miller will be mentioned.
Deputy chief Magistrate Christopher O’Brien adjourned the case to September 8 at Wollongong when both AVO applications will be dealt with together.
Mr O’Brien also amended one of the conditions of the interim AVO relaxing conditions relating to Mr Mehajer going near a place where Ms Learmonth works or lives.
“If it’s not resolved on the next occasion I anticipate that the hearing date will be fixed,†Mr O’Brien said.
Ms Learmonth ditched the Mehajer surname when she left her husband just months after their outrageous wedding which forced their Lidcombe street to be shutdown.
Mehajer has repeatedly insisted on social media that the couple are still together responding last month to questions on his rocky marriage, “as mentioned before, only death will do us apartâ€.
