Princess diaries. Princess Eugenie reveals exactly what it’s like to be in her heels on a day-to-day basis. Picture: Jeff Spicer/Getty Images.

SHE’S the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, and eighth in line to the throne — but that doesn’t make Princess Eugenie any less normal than the rest of us.

From binge-watching How to Get Away with Murder, to last-minute dinners with friends, Princess Eugenie’s days are filled with the activities of any woman in their mid-20s.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar for their September issue, the 26-year-old delved into detail about what makes up a typical day for a princess.

From applying her favourite Bobbi Brown bronzer in the back seat of a car at 8.45am, to her first early morning phone calls with boyfriend Jack, Eugenie even spoke of her Netflix addiction and what shows she is currently hooked on.

In 24 hours, here’s five things we learnt about Princess Eugenie:

Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is known as ‘mumsy’, and the Queen is ‘granny’:

One of the first things on the agenda for the Princess is to make a quick call to her ‘mumsy’, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson.

“My first conversation is often with my mum, saying, ‘Good morning, what are you doing today?’” she revealed.

“My bedroom is full of photos my parents have taken, mumsy took one of an elephant spraying water on its back, which is incredible, and there’s one papa took of Balmoral Castle.”

The Princess is also quite candid when referring to the Queen, explaining that she and her sister Beatrice have many charities they support, including ones advocated by their grandparents.

“In the evenings, I often have engagements related to my family or a charity I support,” she said. “My sister, Bea, and I have charities we’re patrons of. We also try to support granny and grandpa in any way we can because that is what family is for.”

Her favourite shops are Zara and Topshop:

It’s not all Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham when you’re part of the royal family. In fact, Eugenie listed some high street labels as stocking her favourite outfits.

“I wear a dress and boots to work,” she said.

“For clothes, I love Sandro and Maje. Zara is great for work, and bits from Topshop. My favourite is my lace bomber jacket from Essentiel Antwerp. And I live in my Rag & Bone ankle boots.”

When it comes to cosmetics and skincare, Eugenie likes to keep it simple by using her favourite Bobbi Brown Bronzer and mascara by Charlotte Tilbury.

“I wash my face with Jo Malone Eucalyptus and Mint cleanser,” she added.

Eugenie is obsessed with art, and works in a gallery:

The only thing Eugenie said most people are surprised to learn about her is that she actually has a fulltime job.

Starting at 9am and finishing after 5pm on most evenings, the young royal says she will do her makeup in the car so she isn’t late to work, The Hauser and Wirth gallery in London.

“Part of my job is planning special projects, supporting the artists in the gallery and managing events,” she said.

“I’ve loved art since I was very little. I knew I definitely wouldn’t be a painter [laughs], but I knew this was the industry for me.

“I love being able to share my passion for art with people. If someone doesn’t understand something, you have the ability to suggest, ‘Maybe you can look at it this way’. That’s what I find most thrilling about working in a gallery.

“We usually have team meetings in the afternoon to discuss plans for events such as the next Venice Biennale, where Phyllida Barlow is representing the UK and Mark Bradford the US.”

The princess likes to fill her drawers with weird collections:

Aside from the jewels, fascinators and “shoes everywhere” in her bedroom, Eugenie has a pretty bizarre habit of collecting certain items from every restaurant she visits.

“I collect restaurant cards,” she admitted

“I also collect airplane tickets ... since I was 16.

“One day, I’m going to turn them into wallpaper and paste it into my cupboard.”

She loves a good Netflix binge:

Just like the rest of us millenials, nothing beats an evening of Netflix and chill — even if you are a princess.

“If I’m home, I cook and watch TV,” she said. “It’s very relaxed.

“At the moment I’m watching How to Get Away With Murder — Viola Davis, she’s insanely good — and Outlander, my favourite.

“When I’m with Jack [boyfriend], we watch The Walking Dead, which we’re obsessed with. Maybe Game of Thrones is our next thing. I don’t watch reality shows, but I love cooking programs.

“Indulgences? Chips — fries, as you say — Diet Coke, nuts! Cashew nuts with mustard are the best. Netflix.”
