Beyonce performs on her Formation World Tour at Marlins Park in Miami.

IT’S been a few months since Beyonce released Lemonade and sent everyone into a frenzy with the lyrics: “Better call Becky with the good hair.”

And while fans immediately decided Becky was a pseudonym for Rachel Roy — pouncing on the designer and accusing her of cheating with Beyonce’s husband Jay Z — it turns out that wasn’t true.

Diana Gordon, the main songwriter behind the song Sorry, has come forward and put the speculation to rest, saying “Becky” isn’t referring to just one person.

“I laughed, like this is so silly,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Where are we living? I was like, ‘What day in age from that lyric do you get all of this information?’ Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?”

The revelation comes just days after Roy claimed Beyonce’s fans are behind a major hacking attack on her in the wake of Lemonade’s release.

Roy found herself the target of a torrent of online abuse had her Gmail and iCloud accounts hacked and her mobile phone number changed without her permission.

But it turns out fans were just reading too much into who Becky was.
