LAURA Williams had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-her stint on this season of The Bachelor — but she’s very happy to be out of the running.
We were just one group date in to the series before her and fellow contestant Mia MacKinnon were sent packing, but Williams insists it was her decision.
Her official party line, as told to news.com.au: “We just didn’t connect. He seems like a really nice dude. Not everyone’s going to fit the mould — we didn’t have chemistry.â€
But just below the surface, it appears there could be another factor — with the pretty blonde refusing to quash reports 31-year-old Richie Strahan has an unpleasant smell.
“I can say nothing,†she laughed.
“Nothing!â€
So what does he smell like?
“He smells like Richie,†was her diplomatic (and very telling) response.
So it certainly made sense that Williams tipped off producers that she was happy to bow out before last night’s rose ceremony.
“I had a chat with them beforehand — I said I wasn’t feeling it when I got asked if I wanted a rose,†she revealed.
While Williams calmly exited the mansion last night, MacKinnon looked to be pretty distressed at being effectively kicked out, even breaking down in tears.
Turns out they weren’t over Richie.
“I wasn’t crying because of him, I cried because I realised then I was in love with someone else and I’d hurt him by going on the show,†she explained.
“They were kind of happy tears.â€
Of course, their elimination last night was far from the most explosive scene of the episode. Right before it, series villain Keira Maguire began a fairly furious tirade against early favourite Alex Nation — which looked to be quite awkward for the other girls in the room, including Williams.
“That was completely Keira. Full-blown Keira,†she laughed.
“She’s hilarious, she’s entertaining — she knows that’s what she’s there for, so she just says what she thinks.â€
And who does she think will get the final rose?
“Someone blonde!†she guessed — which doesn’t really narrow it down.
