Pizza chain Eagle Boys has closed 13 company-owned stores effective from today after being placed in voluntary administration on July 14.
The closure of the company owned stores in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia is part of an ongoing review to identify cost saving restructuring measures with the aim for positive growth, Eagle Boys announced.
The troubled pizza chain has been placed in voluntary administration with SV Partners assuming control of head office day-to-day operations, who are focused on maintaining the business and continuing negotiations for a sale of the business.
After taking control of the company, SV Partners said there have been enquiries from interested parties and they are “hopeful of a swift saleâ€. The Retail Food Group earlier expressed its interest in taking over the Eagle Boys chain.
Retail Food Group yesterday responded to speculation that is was interested in taking over the Eagle Boys chain, while Domino’s, Australia’s biggest pizza franchise, has declined to comment.
SV Partners were appointed as administrators a week ago by the head franchisor of the business, which was established in Albury, NSW in 1987 and now has over 100 stores.
