A man who used his mobile phone while driving has led to a series of major drug raids and the seizure of almost $45 million of methamphetamine, or ice.

Officers say they stopped a 26-year-old man at Haymarket in Sydney after they spotted him using his mobile phone while driving.

In searching his car, they found over three kilograms of ice with a street value of $1.2 million.

His case is already before the courts.

Following further investigations, detectives stopped a 30-year-old man carrying a suitcase at Saint John's Park in western Sydney on Saturday.

It is alleged he had 10 kilograms of the drug on him.

On Saturday night, police raided a home in the same suburb and arrested 21-year-old Emanuel Suleman, allegedly seizing more than $1 million in cash.

On Sunday morning he faced court and was refused bail on the basis that he poses a flight risk.

Police also searched another home at Marrickville in Sydney's south, where they allegedly found about 77 kilograms of the drug.

All three men were charged with multiple drug-related offences.

"Police are still investigating the roles of all these people and they're obviously going to be before the courts so I can't comment too much on their role," Superintendent Danny Doherty told the media on Sunday.

"However, it appears that the three people involved, police will allege a drug network, an organised crime drug network."

He said the raids would have a big impact on the availability of the drug in some areas.

"The fact that over $45 million worth of drugs have been seized, that equates to 900,000 street deals has been prevented from hitting the streets ... so that's a significant impact on this network," Superintendent Doherty said.
