GRANT Denyer’s five-year old daughter Sailor usually isn’t keen to watch her dad host Family Feud.
But according to Denyer that’s all set to change when tonight’s special episode airs.
Family Feud will air a one-off Disney themed-show this Sunday and Denyer says it’s finally managed to get his first born excited about his TV gig — especially as it also inspired a board game.
The Family Feud Disney Edition game is in stores now and it’s become hot property in the Denyer household.
“Sailor was pretty happy when I brought home that board game, I can tell you,†he said.
“She’s a resident expert of anything Frozen as you can imagine so when it comes to that category of question she is the boss.
“It’s wonderful to have the family sit down at one table and play a board game together. That’s great family time — you can’t buy those experiences.
“The Feud does it every night in lounge rooms across Australia and I’m really proud of that. But the fact that people are playing board games in 2016? That blows my mind.â€
Denyer has more reasons to celebrate today. In addition to getting a visit from Mickey Mouse on his day job, tonight marks the launch of the second season of The Great Australian Spelling Bee.
And that’s a show which has proved much more popular with Sailor.
“Her spelling isn’t that great yet but she wanted to come down to work with me and watch,†said Denyer.
“She put on a dance on the stage for the audience which she was very happy with. She’s not shy!
“Sailor loves the show and loves the kids. She wanted to meet them and play with them all. She’s not that fussed by the Feud but she loves The Spelling Bee.â€
