Emergency services in Canberra were kept busy on Tuesday night as wild weather downed multiple trees and caused traffic woes on several roads.

A car reportedly crashed into a fallen tree on Streeton Drive on Tuesday night, as wild weather downed trees and caused traffic woes on several Canberra roads.

It is understood the driver was not injured in the crash, which happened on Streeton Drive between Hindmarsh Drive and Namatjira Drive before 8pm Tuesday.

The "extreme conditions" prompted police to urge drivers to take care on the roads.

A number of Canberra suburbs were affected by power outages on Tuesday.

Suburbs including Farrer, Greenway, Mawson, Oxley, Phillip and Wanniassa, lost power about 9pm with ActewAGL estimating power would be restored within two hours.

A tree took out a power line in Fyshwick at the corner of Ipswich and Wiluna Streets, causing a black out shortly before 9.30pm.

Police and emergency services were kept busy responding to multiple reports of fallen trees across Canberra.

Several roads including William Webb Drive, near Owen Dixon Drive, Laycock Place in Holt, and Ginninderra Drive east bound, were affected by fallen trees.

Canberra was pelted by wet and windy weather late Tuesday, with the ACT State Emergency Services responding to 52 calls for help by 10pm.

Most calls were about fallen trees on roads and powerlines. The roof of an industrial building in Fyshwick was also damaged.

Canberra can expect more showers and windy conditions on Wednesday, with temperatures forecast to reach a low of minus 1 degree and a top of 7 degrees. There is a possible chance of snow and a medium chance of showers.
