An elderly Melbourne man has been charged with sexually attacking two teenage girls and a woman at multiple suburban medical practices over a 30-year period.

Police said the 72-year-old Clifton Hill man was charged on Tuesday with 19 sex offences, including rape, sexual penetration of a child under 16, indecent assault, and attempting to procure a female to become a prostitute.

The alleged offences occurred at two medical centres in Wantirna South, in Melbourne's east, between 1974 and 1980, where he allegedly assaulted two females aged 14 and 21 in separate incidents.

In another alleged incident, in the northern suburb of Roxburgh Park in 2004, the man allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl.

A police spokeswoman said the man had been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 15.
