A UNITED AIRLINES flight from London to Chicago was forced to land after it declared a midair emergency.

The Flight 929, which left the capital’s Heathrow Airport, was forced to divert while travelling to Illinois in the US.

The plane was spotted on flight radar over Edinburgh, where it was in a holding pattern and burning fuel.

The Boeing 767-300 reported an emergency while flying above the north of Britain, AirLive reports.

United Airlines tweeted that the pilot believed there was a “potential fuel issue that needs maintenance”.

Flight UA929 landed safely at Edinburgh Airport on Tuesday, July 12, after experiencing a fuel leak.
