AUTHORITIES have released disturbing audio of the 911 calls two Texas sisters made just moments before their mother shot them dead.
Taylor and Madison Sheats rang the emergency line before their mother, Christy Sheats, 42, fired at them with a semiautomatic handgun.
According to police, two calls were made from inside the home, with one from each daughter. In both recordings, all of the family members can be heard screaming.
In the first call, her husband Jason Sheats can be heard pleading with her as her children scream in the background.
“Please don’t point the gun at us ... I beg you, please put down your gun!†Jason shouts in the distressing call.
In the background, the girls, aged 22 and 17, can be heard pleading repeatedly, screaming: “Please don’t shoot! Please. I’m sorry. I beg you.â€
Towards the end, Jason yells: “I’m sorry. I promise you, whatever you want, I will —’
At this point, the line goes dead.
In the second call, the daughter Taylor can be heard yelling “I’m shot!â€
A third call was placed to police by a neighbour, who told the dispatcher that two people had been shot outside their home, and “a lady with a gun†was coming out of the house.
The neighbour said two ladies were lying on the street, with a man trying to help them, as the woman stood over them with a gun.
It is believed the two girls were still alive when they were on the street, before the mother went inside to reload her gun, after which she shot one of them again.
Christy Sheats shot and killed her and her husband’s two daughters following a domestic dispute.
Police arrived at the normally quiet neighbourhood in Fulshear, west of Houston, after a series of 911 calls — including this one — alerted them to the dispute.
The mother was then shot dead by authorities.
One of the daughters died at the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital but did not survive.
Her husband was present during the altercation, but was not injured.
