Earlier this month, Hillary Clinton won enough delegates to snatch the Deomcratic nomination for president. However Vermont Senator Sanders refused to concede. Even after a meeting with US President Barack Obama in which he told the senator that he would be endorsing Ms Clinton.

However, Sen. Sanders has shown that he isn’t bad at adding up numbers but would rather stay in the race so he has a platform to bring about change while he can.

“It doesn’t appear that I’m going be the nominee,” Sen Sanders told C-SPAN.

He said his presidential campaign is negotiating “almost on a daily basis” with Clinton’s team, urging her to stake out the most progressive positions she can on campaign finance reform, health care, higher education and the economy.

He is also urging Clinton to pick a running mate who he considers to be liberal, like Elizabeth Warren who was been effective in attacking Trump.

He says it would be a “terrible mistake for her to go to a candidate who has roots in Wall Street or has been backed by Wall Street.”

The senator says he expects to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
He says his campaign is trying to create the “most progressive platform” and change the party’s use of “superdelegates” who help determine the nominee.

“We are going to take our campaign to the convention with the full understanding that we’re very good in arithmetic and that we know who has received the most votes up until now,” he told reporters.
