Wheelers Hill’s Lumreekie is on the market with an asking price of $10.28 million.

A LANDMARK Wheelers Hill mansion complete with eight bedrooms, a floodlit tennis court, pool and “meditation pavilion” has hit the market.

The 5614sq m Lumreekie at 37-47 Lum Rd sprawls across one of the largest estates in the area and last sold for $5.1 million in June 2012.

The price was a residential sale record in Monash at the time.

This time around, it comes with an eye-watering $10.28 million asking price.

That’s more than 10 times the Wheelers Hill median house price of $1 million, according to CoreLogic.

Barry Plant Monash agent Adrian Santini sold the home in 2012 and has the listing again.

The property was one of the municipality’s finest, he said.

“It’s got everything,” Mr Santini said.

So what does that more than $10 million price tag come with?

For starters, seven of the bedrooms have ensuites, accounting for just some of the home’s impressive 10 bathroom total.

The main bedroom is a step up again, featuring a dressing room, deluxe ensuite and a private lounge area.

A designated “breakfast area” surrounded by windows sits to the side of an informal living and dining space. There are also formal living and dining rooms and a theatre.

There are also two studies, three if you don’t need an eighth bedroom, and two laundries.

Outside, a pool house is set among the property’s lush, expansive gardens.

Mr Santini said Lumreekie’s long list of inclusions was just the beginning.

“More importantly, it’s probably in the best spot in the area,” he said.

“Of anywhere in Monash, let alone in Wheelers Hill, on a bit of a crest there with uninterrupted views to the Dandenong Ranges.”

“It feels like you’re so removed from everything as well ... it doesn’t feel like you’re in the suburbs because of the land it’s on.”

However, Mr Santini said another landmark Wheelers Hill property now held the Monash residential sale record.

The 1.02ha Elinora at 22 Coniston Drive, which also features a grand home, fetched $10.45 million last year, he added.

“That house and this house are the two largest estates in Wheelers Hill and this is particularly hard to replicate, especially the position,” he said.

The property had attracted international interest since hitting the market, as well as from locals who had admired the property for some time, Mr Santini said.

The owners no longer need the home’s 17 principle rooms and are downsizing.

On the other hand, one of the interested parties was keen to add even more bedrooms to the property if they decided to buy it, Mr Santini said.
