Call outs to tradies for roof repairs jumped dramatically after the weekend of wild weather.

CALLS to tradies have skyrocketed in the past couple of days after storms lashed the eastern seaboard, causing millions worth of damage.

Online tradie website, hipages, experienced a sharp increase in quotes for jobs as a result of damage caused by the wild weather conditions.

A spokeswoman for hipages said most of the jobs were for storm preparation or repairs, including emergency tree felling services, roof repairs, guttering and electricians.

The biggest demand was for roofing or roof repairs.

The organisation compared job requests posted across four day periods from June 3 to 6 when the rough weather hit with the same days the previous weekend.

New South Wales had a 1015 per cent increase in call outs for roof repairs between the two weekends.

The biggest demand came from Parramatta where requests for quotes were up by 2400 per cent, followed by Sutherland 2000 per cent and North Western Sydney 1700 per cent.

Emergency related jobs for electricians, tree fellers and window repairs jumped up by 200 per cent in New South Wales.

In Queensland demand for roof repair quotes increased 211 per cent but on the Gold Coast a massive 1500 per cent increase on the weekend.

The biggest lift in demand for tradies in Victoria between the two weekends was for hot water system repairs which increased by 90 per cent during the same period.

hipages co-founder Roby Sharon-Zipser said finding a tradie can be difficult after such a massive weather event.

“While many are still reeling from the devastating storms, we’ve seen a lot of Aussies starting to make the necessary repairs to their homes and businesses,” he said.
