NSW Premier Mike Baird's controversial council amalgamations program, light rail development, nightspot lockouts and laws under which people can be detained for up to a fortnight without charge will be the focus of a protest march.
Those participating in the "March Against Mike" are expected to rally at Sydney Town Hall on Sunday afternoon before marching to NSW Parliament.
Greens MP David Shoebridge is due to speak about what his party has described as the "terrifying new civil liberty laws and the increased power of the NSW police force that dangerously effects us all".
Several community groups, like anti-CSG campaigners, will join with former Leichhardt Mayor Darcy Byrne to oppose the policies of "Casino Mike" - over claims his lockout laws would drive nightlife to Star Casino.
The casino was labelled the winner of the city's lockout laws in 2014 after its gaming revenue rose, although the casino maintained its patronage remained the same.
