A 17-year-old girl is recovering from serious burns after she was allegedly set alight by her ex-boyfriend at her Logan home on Friday.
The teenager remains in an induced coma at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she is being treated for serious burns to her arms, legs and torso.
Her ex-boyfriend, also 17, was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm yesterday after the alleged incident at her home on Avalon Ct in Marsden on Friday.
Police will allege the teenager doused her with a flammable liquid following an argument and set her alight about 4pm, causing serious injuries.
Her sister took to Facebook to voice her disbelief.
“She is only 17 years old, she has her whole life ahead of her and she does not deserve this,†the post read.
“You are such a beautiful young girl. You’re not giving up on me this easy, I know you can get through this, you’re a fighter. I love you heaps sis, I can’t believe this has happened.â€
The 17-year-old man will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
