AUSSIES will be celebrating the Queen’s birthday long weekend in different ways this year — but none will be quite as glamorous as this.
In commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday, a holiday rentals website is offering a lucky couple the chance to stay in a palace and be served by a former butler to the British Royal Family.
Stayz is flying butler Grant Harrold to Australia to school a couple and their friends or family in the art of royal etiquette and entertaining, while spending the weekend in a lavish six-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate in Kenthurst.
The rent will be just $1 and will include a chauffeur driven car to and from the property.
Mr Harrold was butler to the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate and Prince Harry.
The “Royal†vacation will be available to book from Wednesday this week at 12pm on a first come first served basis.
The property includes a formal dining area and lounge, music room with baby grand piano, theatre and billiard room.
There is also an indoor spa, hair salon and 15m heated pool with an adjoining Cabana.
The tennis court is lawn grass and there are six acres of land, including gardens, in which to indulge in games like croquet.
Mr Harrold said he had seen his fair share of royal dinners, cocktail and garden parties and afternoon teas and was keen to pass on his entertaining tips.
“I’ve worked at the very highest level, so know the difference between a good and excellent host,†he said, adding that he was looking forward to coming to Australia and learning a few local customs to take back with him.
