DR LUKE is demanding the release of Kesha’s private medical records in a further attempt to disprove the pop singer’s rape allegations in a move that could have horrifying consequences for victims of sexual assault who undergo professional treatment.
Music producer Dr Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, says in a New York court document the 29-year-old musician “unambiguously waived†any therapist-client privilege when she tried to break her recording contract citing “physical, emotional and sexual trauma inflicted by Mr Gottwaldâ€, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
As the legal battle between the two camps rages on, Kesha rebuffed Dr Luke’s May 10 filing, stating the privilege was in place to protect “a person’s innermost thoughts and feelingsâ€.
She also said if her records were released, it would set a dangerous precedent risking the disclosure of other rape victims’ private therapy sessions.
A judge is yet to rule on the matter.
