FOUR goals to Steven Motlop inspired Geelong to a 26-point victory over the Crows at Adelaide Oval to open Round 8.

The attention was on Patrick Dangerfield, but it was Motlop who stood up for the Cats when it mattered.

The Crows trailed by just two points at the final break and Paul Seedsman had a chance to put them in front early in the final term. But he missed and it was all Geelong thereafter.

Dangerfield overcame a slow start to be one of Geelong’s best, while Shane Kersten kicked three goals.

The only concern for the Cats is a concussion to defender Tom Lonergan.
