IT’S been 20 years since Gina G represented the Brits at the Eurovision Song Contest — and she hasn’t changed a bit, reports The Sun.
The Australian singer represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision in Oslo, Norway, back in May 1996 with her hit song Ooh Aah ... Just a Little Bit, which remains — as of 2016 — the last UK Eurovision entry to top the British charts.
Sadly, Gina G, born Gina Mary Gardiner, who was just 25 at the time, finished eighth while Ireland went on to win their fourth title in just five years with the song The Voice.
But her catchy tune went on to become a huge hit, topping the UK chart, reaching the US top 20 and earning her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Dance Recording.
The star, now 45, who still continues to make music, doesn’t look like she’s aged a bit but she has ditched her lush red curls and metallic outfits for darker locks.
Gina was a DJ in Melbourne and a singer in the Australian dance music group Bass Culture before moving to the UK in 1995.
It was then she entered the A Song for Europe competition, which is the annual contest to select the United Kingdom’s entry into the Eurovision Song Contest.
After her success with Ooh Aah ... Just a Little Bit, she went on to release other UK hits, I Belong to You, Fresh, Ti’Amo and Gimme Some Love.
The singer then disappeared from the music industry for several years after getting embroiled in a long lawsuit with UK producer and songwriter Steve Rodway.
In 2005, the singer made a comeback and tried to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest competing against Katie Price and Javine Hylton.
She missed out and finished fifth out of five entries on the preselection program with her song Flashback — it was Javine stole the show with her entry Touch My Fire.
These days has her own record label, Stunt Girl Music, and lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
