Multi-brand food franchisor, Retail Food Group (RFG), has purchased adjoining properties on the Gold Coast where it will establish its global headquarters.
The 24,000sqm Ashmore site will ultimately house multiple office facilities, warehousing infrastructure, manufacturing pursuits, loading docks, multiple access points and on-site parking for more than 200 vehicles.
RFG, which owns the Gloria Jean’s, Crust Pizza and Donut King, currently has facilities located in Southport, Ashmore and Yatala across the Gold Coast, as well as Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles.
RFG managing director, Tony Alford, said the property acquisition would allow the company to consolidate its Gold Coast operations while providing opportunities in terms of future growth and long-term stability.
“The site will comfortably accommodate RFG’s longer term expansion aspirations which include the centralisation of franchisee support and manufacturing operations, providing long term security for the company,†Alford said.
The company stated the acquisition, refurbishment and renovation investment will be offset by selling off its existing Gold Coast sites, resulting in an estimated net investment of around $5 million.
RFG anticipates an extra investment of around $5 million, resulting in a new total investment to around $10 million in a three-year period.
