This Mad Max-style suicide truck packed with bombs by Islamic State terrorists, is being driven at high speed at a group of Peshmerga soldiers before the driver’s mission comes to a premature end.
WE’RE used to seeing pictures of Islamic State terrorists riding convoy in Toyota Hiluxes but more recently the group has been associated with DIY suicide trucks that resemble something out of the Mad Max movies.
New footage shows one of these patched-together armoured vehicles meeting a spectacular end as it hurtles towards Kurdish militia in the Syrian desert.
The video, first broadcast by France 24 before going viral on social media, shows Peshmerga
fighters firing assault rifles and heavy machine guns at the truck as it gets perilously close to its target.
At the last minute, what appears to be a guided missile briefly flashes in the sky before striking the truck head on, turning it into a rolling fireball as thick black smoke billows up into the sky.
The Kurdish soldiers, both male and female, can then be seen celebrating. Here’s how it unfolded.
