Confronting CCTV footage of an assault and robbery at a Perth convenience store has been released by police as part of an appeal to help locate the attackers.
Police said a male employee, 24, was working as an attendant at the store in Wellington Street in Perth earlier this month when a man entered the shop.
The worker began to serve the man who then became aggressive and left the store.
"The offender then threw an item at the window of the store, causing the attendant to confront him. He was then assaulted," a police spokeswoman said.
"A second male then approached the victim, and also assaulted him.
"A large group of people then surrounded the victim, with the original offenders and others entering the store and taking items from the shelves."
The footage also shows various members of the group throwing items at the attendant before leaving the area.
The shopkeeper was unhurt.
Police said they were still trying to identify the culprits.
"Anyone who can assist in identifying the members in the group is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online," police said.
