A MUM-of-three whose body parts were found dumped in a bin after going missing following an online date was dismembered with a 15-inch pruning saw in her own bathroom, court documents claim.
The Sun reports that Ingrid Lyne, 40, was last seen leaving to attend the Seattle Mariners opening game with a date on Friday, but did not come home to pick up her children the next morning.
The man she’d been on a date with, John Robert Charlton, 37, has reportedly told officers he had no idea what happened after the pair returned to Ingrid’s Seattle home because he was so drunk.
Detectives investigating the gruesome murder said they found blood and flesh in Lyne’s bathroom and drains.
A 15-inch pruning saw was found near the bathtub, with friends telling cops that it was unusual for the item to be found in Ingrid’s bathroom.
The rest of her dismembered body, including her severed head, were found dumped in bin bags several kilometres from the property.
Charlton initially claimed to have suffered no injuries but police found him to have bruises on his forehead and hands, and injuries to his lip and chin.
The Seattle Times reported that Charlton has a lengthy criminal history across six US states and served time in Utah and Montana.
His parents also allegedly filed for restraining orders against him in 2006 because they feared for their own safety.
The paper claimed that on one occasion Charlton “threatened†his mother by telling her to watch the 2001 film Hannibal.
The movie stars Anthony Hopkins as a cannibal serial killer.
Cops were able to immediately identify Lyne’s remains because her severed head was described as still “freshâ€.
Her ex-husband, whom she split with in 2014, reported her missing on Saturday morning when the mum-of-three failed to pick up their kids.
Worried friends circulated photographs of Lyne and Charlton on Facebook hoping to get some response.
A search warrant was then issued and police eventually tracked down Charlton through evidence including phone records in Snohomish County, just north of Seattle, WREG reported.
Lyne’s three traumatised children are staying with a family friend.
