Halls Head Central opening 2The newly redeveloped Halls Head Central Shopping Centre will soon be home to one of Western Australia’s first Aldi supermarkets.

The $55 million project in Western Australia’s Peel region, which was redeveloped by Vicinity Centres and property investment company ISPT, was launched recently followed by a weeklong festival of activities for its visitors.

The shopping centre, which has tripled in size, now boasts a new Kmart, 55 specialty stores, a redevloped Coles and a casual dining precinct with dedicated alfresco space.

The area’s first Aldi supermarket will open in the centre in June.

“Halls Head Central is a convenient and vibrant hub for food, fashion and services. Its location and greatly enhanced retail mix matches the market
now and for years to come,” said ISPT general manager of Retail Services, Sam Curry.

The redevelopment of Halls Head Central is ‘positioned to take advantage of the trade area’s population
growth, which is forecast to increase by 30,000 residents across the next eight years, and the thousands of day trippers and tourists that visit the Peel region each year.’

Curry said the Halls Head project is ISPT’s second development partnership with Vicinity Centres. Vicinity Centres has a development pipeline of $3 billion.

The centre was officially opened by Vicinity Centres executive general manager of development Jonathan Timms, Minister for Tourism, Hon. Dr. Kim Hames MLA, and City of Mandurah mayor Marina Vergone.
