A man accused of killing his housemate in their Brisbane home has been granted bail.
Aaron Llewellyn Jones, 28, allegedly got into a violent argument with his flatmate Joel Russell Charlesworth, 30, just before midnight on Sunday.
Mr Charlesworth was unconscious when paramedics arrived and could not be revived.
Jones was later charged with manslaughter
Jones' lawyer Tim Clements told the Brisbane Magistrates Court during proceedings on Monday his client was not the aggressor during the row at the Murarrie property.
He had defensive injuries, as well as a torn earlobe, the lawyer told the court, and had called an ambulance before attempting CPR on his flatmate.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Leanne O'Shea remanded Mr Jones in custody Monday night to undergo a mental health check.
Magistrate O'Shea granted bail on Tuesday, on the condition he had no contact with witnesses, including his girlfriend.
