Pregnant woman hit with own car in Qld
A man has been charged after allegedly twice assaulting a pregnant woman and hitting her with her own car south of Brisbane.
The 23-year-old woman was walking to her car at a health facility in Loganlea on Friday morning when a man known to her approached her.
Police allege the man stole her phone, punched her in the head and then stole her car.
"The woman managed to walk to a nearby bus stop where it will be alleged the man returned and drove the vehicle up onto the footpath and into the bus shelter, hitting the woman," police said in a statement.
"It will further be alleged the man then kicked the woman to the head and stomach before fleeing in the woman's vehicle."
She was taken to Logan Hospital for treatment.
A 24-year-old man was later arrested at a home in Kingston.
He is expected to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday on assault, theft and dangerous driving charges.
