THE AFL has launched an investigation into alleged misconduct by Collingwood forward Alex Fasolo during the NAB Challenge clash against Geelong on Friday night.
The league took action after Fasolo allegedly relieved himself into a water bottle while on the Magpies interchange bench during the second quarter.
A possible punishment is expected to be announced this week.
Collingwood’s rooms were on the opposite side of the ground to the Pies’ bench. Only Geelong’s rooms are located on the bench side of Simonds Stadium.
The Magpies have access to the Cats’ VFL rooms — which are on the same side of the ground — but the AFL website reports it is unclear whether the club knew it had access.
AFL rule 22.12 (hygiene) states: each club or team must ensure that: (a) players do not urinate (other than in a toilet) in or about any dressing rooms or on the playing surface prior to, during or immediately following the completion of any match; and (b) each of its players observe a high standard of personal hygiene.â€
