A husband took to the internet to voice his concern over his wife’s Fitbit device, saying the wearable wrist piece was registering an unusual heart rate reading.

“My wife’s Fitbit is showing her heartbeat being consistently high over the last few days,” Reddit user YoungPTone wrote.

“Two days ago, a somewhat normal day, she logged 10 hours in the fat burning zone, which I would think to be impossible based on her activity level.

“I’m not sure if something is wrong with the sensor. Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the device? I’d like to try that before I contact customer service about a possible replacement,” he continued.

Several people suggested reasons for the reading, with one even suggesting the possibility of pregnancy. Reddit user Thatwasunpleasant, commented that she had experienced similar heart readings on her device before finding out she was two months pregnant.

Turns out, the reason for the reading wasn’t exactly what he was expecting.

Days after posting the initial concern, YoungPTone revealed the cause of the increased heartrate;

“I’m going to be a dad,” he posted.

“This is real, the fear is real, the excitement is very real! I am a regular guy who was just looking for the communities help with his wife’s technology issue. Little did I know I got a lot more than I bargained for.

“Now I’m a regular guy who is preparing to have his first child brought into the world.”
