Would you try it? The Krispy Kreme doughnut burger that’s got customers coming back for more. Picture: Timothy Clapin

WE’VE seen some weird and wonderful burger creations take over Sydney cafes, but how does a Krispy Kreme burger sound to you?

With two homemade beef patties, crispy bacon, cheese and pickles all wedged between two mouth-watering original glazed doughnuts, it’s bound to tip you over your daily calorie intake.

If that’s not enough, it comes with a side of curly fries, all for $16.

Espresso Warriors Wetherill Park chef Ray Luangamath co-created the doughnut burger with a former colleague.

It was part of a challenge all chefs across the three other Espresso Warrior cafes in Sydney competed in — who comes up with the most unique, tasty burger that will keep the customers coming back for more.

Co-owner Trung Bui said the team at Wetherill Park definitely nailed the brief.

“It’s definitely an out of the ordinary kind of burger,” Mr Bui said.

The boys assured it tastes just as good as it looks.

“If you love sweet and savoury you will love it, it doesn't taste as heavy as you may think,” chef Luangamath said.

Keep track of their Facebook page for announcements on when they’re serving the popular burger.

But that’s not the only dish the cafe is known for — their all-day breakfast attracts plenty of local, particularly their smashed avocado ($11) and hungry warrior ($20.50) which includes two eggs, crispy bacon and sauteed mushrooms.

They also have their own (Latin American) coffee blend using five beans, roasted at the popular Marrickville Double Roasters.
