Acting ambition? ... Scream Queens star Lea Michele thinks Harry Styles might join the cast for the second season

Michele has revealed that Styles could possibly join the cast next year for season two, if rumours she has heard are true.

This year, the show’s creator Ryan Murphy cast singers Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande in supporting roles, and also cast Lady Gaga as the lead character in his other horror anthology series, American Horror Story.

But nabbing Styles would undoubtedly be a coup for Murphy as One Direction has a large dedicated fan base.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, Michele said she’s heard rumours that a male pop star would be joining the cast next year and she thinks it is likely Styles.

“If it’s Harry Styles, everybody better calm down,” Michele said.

“I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I’m also thinking that he should be in the Wicked movie. He’s our modern day Mick Jagger.”

Season one of Scream Queens averaged 2.788 million viewers.

Hot shot Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein previously talked of Styles’ “star potential”.

“There’s no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to,” Weinstein told The Sun.

“When you meet him, he’s super-charismatic. He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him. I’ve met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star.

“You know, he’s a dashing rogue — a fun-loving, spirited kind of actor that used to be in England all the time.

“He doesn’t even have to audition for me. We offered him a part and he couldn’t do the movie because he had the tour. The amount of money their tour did is crazy, so he’s got obligations.”

It has also been rumoured that Jennifer Saunders offered Styles a role in the upcoming Absolutely Fabulous film set for release in 2016.
