MISS Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has congratulated the real Miss Universe — but her actions on Instagram have divided and angered social media.
On Instagram today, she posted a message where she expressed her thanks to those that supported her.
She also congratulated Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
“After the storm comes the calm. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent messages of support and strength,†she wrote.
“Every one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world.
“Your destiny is written for you. And my destiny was this. I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes...Today because of that COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world. I also want to congratulate the Philippines for their new Miss Universe. The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible.â€
But it was her previous posts on her Instagram feed that are still fuelling criticism from followers, who claimed she wasn’t being sincere and that she should take the picture down.
One person wrote: “Take the picture down. Please RESPECT the real MISS UNIVERSE. THATS PROBABLY INDEED THE BEST THING THAT YOU CAN DO. YOU WILL BE FOREVER ONE OF THE MISS UNIVERSE, BUT PLEASE RESPECT PIA.â€
Another wrote: “SUCH A CRY BABY :( awwww you should’ve showed some class and put the crown yourself to Ms Philippines instead of just waiting there someone to take it off for you.â€
Others wrote: “You’re so wise and sadly your own country is pretty sad of course but life continues and that’s it!â€
Another posted: “Don’t worry Colombia there’s still next year.â€
THE UNIVERSE MISS COLOMBIA MISSED OUT ON

FEARS FOR MISS COLOMBIA AFTER BLUNDER
MISS Universe judge Perez Hilton has ripped into “b***h†Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as well as host Steve Harvey following Sunday night’s embarrassing bungle.
In a scathing podcast, the gossip blogger said 21-year-old Gutierrez acted like a “divaâ€, even before Harvey mistakenly declared her the winner.
“I don’t know if the people at home could see this, but Miss Colombia was being a straight-up diva b***h,†Hilton said of her alleged behaviour.
“[She was] rude to her translator. She was giving the most awful side-eye, throwing major shade ... Miss Colombia was not happy with the pace or the way that the translator was translating.â€
Hilton also had harsh words for 58-year-old Harvey, saying he “did not do his job, periodâ€.
Sources said Harvey was gambling and drinking at a Las Vegas casino just hours before the pageant finals, and skipped rehearsals for the final announcement.

OOPS: The worst live TV award show stuff-ups in history
Despite his monumental stuff-up, Miss Universe officials say they want Harvey back next year to host the 2016 pageant.
Organisers have put an end to speculation that they would never hire the beleaguered presenter again after he announced the wrong winner.
Mark Shapiro, chief content officer for Miss Universe owners WME/IMG, said the US Family Feud host was “very remorseful†about the error.
Speaking on Jim Rome’s CBS Sports Radio Show, Shapiro said Harvey was “absolutely†welcome back.
Proving there’s no such thing as bad publicity, Shapiro said Harvey “did a great jobâ€.
“He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following … I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.â€
The Belize Tourism Board also threw its support behind Harvey, tweeting that it was impressed with the way he handled himself after the mistake and that he was welcome to host next year’s International Costa Maya Festival.
Perez Hilton said he wasn’t the only one to notice Gutierrez’s alleged shocking behind-the-scenes antics.
“She came across not just to me, but several of the other judges b****y and arrogant. It was that Miss Philippines gave a better answer,†he said.
“[Wurtzbach] really brought her A-game and was super competitive but she deserved it. To me, there was a real beauty and grace and elegance [in her]. She was Miss Universe.â€
The celebrity columnist added that Wurtzbach “won fair and square.â€
“I went with my gut and voted for Miss Philippines ... Actually, I found out afterwards, it was unanimous — everyone, every single judge in that panel, all four of us — voted for Miss Philippines to be number one,†he said.
Hilton was one of four judges, alongside former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, football legend Emmitt Smith and Scream Queens star Niecy Nash.
He told Good Morning America on Tuesday that there were “many reasons†why 26-year-old Miss Philippines won.
“I see Miss Colombia posting on Instagram that she’s the true winner,†he sniped. “There’s a reason — many reasons — that she didn’t win. Congratulations to Philippines.â€
FEARS FOR MISS COLOMBIA AFTER BLUNDER
Colombians fear their beloved beauty-pageant queen will be left an emotional wreck after Harvey mistakenly declared her the winner.
“I do think that [Gutierrez] is very affected by all this,†Maria Isabel Nieto, Colombia’s consul general to New York, told The New York Post.
“I just think that when I was in my 20s and was in her situation I would take a little while to recover.â€
Gutierrez wore the crown for nearly two minutes before Harvey discovered his mistake and announced Miss Philippines as the victor.
The Colombian beauty put on a brave face as the crown was removed from her head and placed on Wurtzbach’s.
The bungled announcement also caused a national trauma for the people of Colombia, with some viewers saying the mistake was a publicity stunt.
“To me, as a Colombian, she is still Miss Universe,†President Juan Manuel Santos tweeted. “They put the crown on her head. The photos are there to prove it.â€
STEVE HARVEY SPOTTED ‘DRINKING, MISSED REHEARSAL’
Harvey’s now-infamous gaffe may have never happened if he didn’t miss the last hour of rehearsals, according to reports.
A source told Entertainment Tonight the host didn’t practice reading the winner’s name.
“Steve went to the beginning of rehearsals, but missed the last hour, at least. He did not practice the ending,†the source said. “The name of the winner is not in the prompter [because] they don’t want the girls to see it.â€
The informant also squashed rumours that the whole debacle was a publicity stunt.
Harvey apologised profusely for his humiliating flub, even showing viewers the cue card he was supposed to read from. It showed that Gutierrez was the first runner-up and Miss Philippines was the real winner.
He apologised to both women on social media, writing: “I’d like to apologise wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.â€
It was a tense moment for the experienced TV host who, TMZ reports, hit high-end roulette tables in Vegas to kick off the Miss Universe weekend.
MISS PHILIPPINES POSES MAKE-UP FREE
In her first official day as Miss Universe, Wurtzbach posted a makeup-free photo of herself to Miss Universe’s Instagram account.
“My 1st day as #MissUniverse has officially begun!†she wrote, alongside the candid snap. “Starting it off fresh-faced and #ConfidentlyBeautiful.â€
PAGEANT JUDGE BACKS HARVEY
Miss Universe judge Niecy Nash expressed her support for Harvey and Wurtzbach.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said of Harvey: “A lesser person would have let the mistake slide and then dealt with it on the back end. I think he was a great host and I think that mistakes happen.â€
The actor also sympathised with Wurtzbach, adding that the judges unanimously voted for her.
“It was hard, because when all the girls came down at the end they didn’t congratulate the real winner, which was Miss Philippines,†she said. “Most of them went over to Miss Colombia because they knew her heart was breaking.â€
