It might have been 33Â degrees in Melbourne on Tuesday, but it was snowing in the Alps.
A big cold change that swept through Melbourne late Tuesday night saw a thin, icy snowfall rain gently down on Mount Buller's naked slopes and sleepy towns, captured in these pretty photos.
In summer, Buller's management team try to capitalise on the warm weather by converting vacant snow runs into tricky mountain-bike trails.
Buller had a dusting of fresh snow on the second day of summer, ahead of mountain bike season on Saturday.
Not so Wednesday morning. By 7am, temperature sensors on the mountaintop were recording a daily low of –2.7 degrees. At the same time in Melbourne it was about 16 degrees.

Kate Monahan, Buller's media officer, said there wasn't quite enough snow on the ground to make a snow angel, but it was a beautiful surprise when she woke on Wednesday morning.
"It's a really light dusting, you can obviously see the grass coming through with that light layer of snow. It won't be sticking around for long."
The light dusting of snow isn't quite enough to make for safe skiing.
Ms Monahan confirmed there was not enough snow to ski safely, unfortunately.
