IT was a drum battle decades in the making.
But rock icon Dave Grohl, best known as the Foo Fighters’ frontman, has finally faced off with the Muppets’ star drummer, Animal.
In a clip from ABC’s new Muppets series, Grohl and Animal challenge each other to a drum-off.
“Been waiting years for this Animal,†Grohl sneered before launching off into an impressive drumming set.

But Animal short back: “Now we see who best†before he gave a good demonstration of where his name actually comes from.
However, by the end of the clip, the pair have worn each other out to the point that they admit defeat.
