TRUE Blood actress Anna Paquin has hit back at Twitter critics who body shamed her online.
The 33-year-old Oscar winner wore a beautiful black floral dress with a full skirt to the Hollywood premiere of her new film The Good Dinosaur on Tuesday.
Paquin shared a photo of herself with her husband, fellow True Blood actor Stephen Moyer, on Twitter, with the caption: “Fun fact: Wearing a dress that is not skin-tight = pregnant/invites people [sic] 2 call u fat. I’m neither so thanks [sic] 4 that.â€
In a follow up tweet she wrote: “Someone who was upset [I] left my skin-tight hooker gear at home for my @TheGoodDinosaur premier ... ya know a FAMILY film.â€
Paquin’s Twitter followers soon jumped to her defence, calling her “beautifulâ€and “stunningâ€.
Paquin has spoken out about body images issues in the past, telling Shape in 2010:
“Its one of those things that’s instilled in you, that it’d be really unfortunate for you to not fit the sample size. I think that’s a shame.â€
“If you’re not in shape and you don’t look a certain way you might not get the parts you want.
“If the character is written as hot and fit, yeah, of course you feel some pressure to make sure you look that way, whether that’s right or wrong.
“I wish it wasn’t an aspect of the job, but I’d be lying if I said it isn’t something I think about,†she said.
