Cameron Storah found $700 and used Facebook to track down the owner.

WHAT would you do if you found $700 lying on the ground?

For Cameron Storah the decision didn’t take long, using Facebook to track down and return a wallet to its owner.

The Mornington Secondary College student was on his way to a party on October 11 when he made the find.

“I was walking through the bush to get there and just as I was about to get to Mills Beach it was in the middle of the path,” Cameron said.

“It was a thick leather wallet just in the middle (of the track). I looked around to see if anyone was near ... I picked it up and it had a big bunch of $50s and all his cards.”

The wallet went into Cameron’s bag and stayed by his side at the party.

Despite a few suggestions by friends to keep the cash, Cameron returned home and with the help of his family tracked the grateful owner down on Facebook.

“He came over and picked it up and gave me and my brother $50,” the 13-year-old Mt Eliza teen said.

Mornington Secondary College acting principal Jim Papas praised the Year 8 student.

“We’re very proud of him ... It was very adult thing of him to do,” Mr Papas said.
