Two taxi drivers charged with assaulting their Uber rivals have been granted bail and told to stay away from the ride-sharing service.

Black & White Cabs employees Sukhcharan Singh Bal, 26, and Jaskirat Singh, 29, appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday charged with assaulting three Uber drivers in Brisbane's inner-city early on Monday.

Magistrate Judy Daley granted them bail on condition they surrender their passports, have no contact with their alleged victims, and "have nothing to do with Uber", including ordering or using the service.

Mr Bal, a driver with Black & White taxis, and Mr Singh, both from Calamvale, are facing court on a string of offences including assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing and unlawful entry of a vehicle.

Mr Singh allegedly told one victim words to the effect of "F--- Uber" and "you're taking away our business" before punching him in the head and shoulder, the court heard.

Senior Sergeant Pearson said it appeared another driver was set up when Mr Bal used the Uber app on his phone to order a ride to Kangaroo Point.

After confirming the driver worked for the ride-sharing service, Mr Bal allegedly punched him in the cheek.

The driver was allegedly held back by several men and his car's mirror was ripped off.

In opposing bail, Senior Sergeant Pearson called that assault "an absolutely pre-meditated set-up".

Mr Bal is an Australian resident who came to the country from India in 2007, the court heard.

A former hairdresser, he bought a taxi lease that expires in 2017 in a bid to make money, defence lawyer Ashley Ehlers said.

Mr Singh, who is on a permanent resident visa, has been driving taxis for two years and came to Australia in 2006.

He is also a pizza delivery driver for Dominos.

Neither driver has a criminal history.

Ms Daley said she didn't believe either was a risk of flight or reoffending but ordered both to surrender their passports and stay away from Uber.

Their cases were adjourned until November 11.
