A FIVE-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after his penis became stuck and was being strangled by the netting in his swimming shorts.

Laura Collins, 33, and her son Jack were on holiday in Mexico when his penis became ensnared in the netting of his swimming shorts.

“After spending hours in the pool, I went to take his swim shorts off to shower,” Ms Collins posted to Facebook.

“The netting in the shorts had got caught around the end of his willy and was literally strangling it. He was screaming a scream I hadn’t heard before.”

Hotel staff rushed them to a doctor, who then rushed them to hospital.

Jack was given a local anaesthetic while emergency workers removed his penis from the netting.

“Thankfully, he managed to wee so no lasting damage,” Ms Collins posted.

Ms Collins was informed by hospital workers that they had seen it “numerous times” and warned parents to remove the netting before letting their children wear the shorts.

She told the Daily Mirror that Jack was “very upset about it afterwards” but bounced back.

“He talks about how he nearly lost his willy on holidays and goes on about the naughty netting,” she said.

The Mirror reported that Ms Collins had contacted Tesco, the company where she had purchased the shorts.

A Tesco spokesman said they were extremely sorry to hear about the incident and would be conducting an investigation with the manufacturer.
