Wish list ... Jodie and Braith Anasta have a list of things they want for their new home. Picture: Cameron Richardson

THERE are many who would jump at the chance to sit down and watch a game on the big screen alongside retired NRL star Braith Anasta.

But his wife and former Home and Away star Jodi Anasta is not one of them.

It is for that reason that Braith nominates a “man cave” as being on his wish list for the dream home that the couple are soon to embark on.

The Anastas have allowed everyone a peak inside their rented home as part of the realestate.com.au exclusive web series Australia Lives Here.

“To have a man cave would be an escape for me. Jodi gets sick of watching the footy after a while,” he said.

Footy-watching time aside, the loved up couple and their gorgeous one-year-old baby daughter Aleeia are a tight unit who are relishing family life.

Today they live in a penthouse apartment in the Sydney eastern suburb of Randwick, complete with a stunning deck with ocean views. But they are keen to get back into the property game and buy something.

“We are looking for our dream home and looking in this area,” said Braith.

“I grew up close to the beach and it’s nice to be out on the roof deck here where you can see the sea.”

The couple sold their beachside semi in nearby Clovelly in 2103, with the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home selling for $1.805 million.

The couple have strong ties to the area. Braith grew up there and the couple recently bought into his family’s renowned waterfront restaurant The Boatshed in La Perouse.

Staying close to the beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is a priority, as is a home in a spot that is built for family life, according to Jodi.

“Randwick, where we are now, is so family friendly, which is really attractive,” she said.

“I would ideally like to be near the water.”

The former Home & Away star said she’s not looking for a mansion.

“It doesn’t have to be massive but it would be great for it to be close to the beach,” she said.

But it does have to accommodate their lively daughter.

“Having a baby, we really need some space,” she said.

The new mum is certainly in nesting mode and relishing developing her interior design talents.

“I love having lots of plants and greenery in the home,” she said.

“My style is still evolving.”

The family aim to enjoy summer at their current rented home before nabbing their dream home in the new year.

The Anastas feature in realestate.com.au’s exclusive web series Australia Lives Here. The series takes a peek into the homes of some of Australia’s most well-known celebrities, sports stars, actors, chefs and musicians. Follow it here.
