Jarryd Hayne has had a terrible start to his NFL regular season career by fumbling his first punt return.

Hayne came into the game late in the first quarter for the San Francisco 49ers with both teams scoreless but dropped the punt near the halfway line, allowing the Minnesota Vikings to recover.

Hayne may get plenty of game time at running back with the 49ers' Reggie Bush limping off the field.
