The 38-year-old rapper, who is married to Kim Kardashian, announced a last minute fashion show to run on Sept 16th at noon, clashing with designer Anne Bowen’s presentation. Indian-American designer Naeem Khan was also set to have his show during this time.

The showing of his Kanye West X Adidas Originals Collection, dubbed Yeezy Season 2, was not scheduled in the official NYFW calendar.

Anne Bowen is furious that fashion media will most likely ditch her show in favour of Kanye’s.

“We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labour and commitment-cost to our company,” Bowen told Women’s Wear Daily.

“Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks. We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours.

“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this,” she said.

Bowen has now moved her show date to Thursday Sept. 17 at 12.30pm.

According to Bowen’s publicist, “We’re scrambling like crazy and it’s costing us a lot of money.”

There are cancellation fees and they’re trying to secure the same models and photographers they originally booked.

“Now we have to reinvite the press … We sent out printed invites by hand, and they’re useless. We’re trying to contact everyone by e-mail,” said the publicist.

Bowen has lodged a complaint against West with the Council of Fashion Designers America (CFDA) Fashion Calendar.

Steven Kolb, president of the CFDA, said that West hadn’t listen his show on the official Fashion Calendar.

“The first I heard about the Kanye show was what I read in the [New York] Post, [a popular NYC newspaper],” said Kolb.

“We didn’t know about it. We can’t avoid conflicts unless we know someone’s doing it.”

Kanye’s Yeezy Season 1 fashion show in February drew a huge celeb crowd, with A-list attendees including Beyonce, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Justin Bieber and Rihanna.
