Ouch.

Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic copped a blow to the head this morning when their marquee collapsed live on air.

The Today Show duo were broadcasting live from the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra to cover the leadership spill when the weather attacked.

“Wow it’s windy here,” said Wilkinson, just moments before the tent gave way and crashed to the ground, striking her in the skull.

Stefanovic lunged from his chair in an attempt to protect his co-host but it was too little, too late.

“It’s alright Lisa, I’ll saved you,” he said (You didn’t really, Karl).

The producers cut back to the studio before crossing back to Stefanovic and Wilkinson later during the show who were still battling with the marquee.

“I don’t know why you cut away from us in the first place,” said Stefanovic, “I mean it was just the most interesting thing that’s happened all morning is this thing falling down on Lisa’s poor old head.”

“That seriously hurt,” said poor Wilkinson.
