A MAN has been arrested and charged after he allegedly pulled a gun and fired two shots in Fremantle after an argument with his sister.

Heavily armed police descended on the six storey block of apartments on Hampton Road about 9.20pm on Monday following reports two shots had been fired.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the man met with his sister in the front car park of a hostel before allegedly pulling a firearm from under his jumper and firing several shots.

The woman ran from the premises and escaped unharmed.

It is understood the siblings were involved in an argument before the shooting.

The 32-year-old man was arrested more than an hour later at his residence in Pinjarra by local police and Tactical Response Group officers.

He has been charged with a number of offences including threatening to kill, going armed in a way to cause fear, discharge of a firearm in a manner to cause fear to the public and breach of a violent restraint order.

He will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
