For the marinade
2 big onions - finely chopped
80 ml olive oil
2-3 cloves garlic - finely chopped
45 ml curry powder
5 ml turmeric
5 ml dry ginger
5 ml dry coriander
2.5 ml fine cloves
100 ml sugar
100 ml vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Method
Season the chops with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a pot and saute the onion and garlic until soft. Add all the other ingredients and cook for 5 minutes. Cool the marinade and then pour it into a bowl or ziploc bag and marinade the chops for 15 - 20 minutes.
When you are ready to make the sosaties, take a metal or wooden skewer and thread the lamb chops, onion halves and apricots onto the skewer. Braai on the coals or in a griddle pan until cooked. Serve with salad and minty yogurt.
