Watch as Better Homes and Gardens gives you packing tips on how to pack food in a freezer! To start packaging food, use food containers. Match food with the right sized freezer container. Pack freezer containers within a half-inch of the rim to allow for expansion. Freezer bags should be fully packed. Squeeze the air out before freezing them. To pack liquids, stand them up in the freezer to take up less room. Sort food by type to organize your freezer, and keep food away from the vent, so cold air can circulate. Place the freshest food in the back, and the older food in the front, and place items you'll use quickly in the freezer door. Keep these packing tips in mind when packaging food into freezers!
