NPR.org, March 8, 2005 · Actress Angelina Jolie, in her role as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, discussed plans for the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, which should open this spring. "Every year thousands of children cross into the U.S. alone," Jolie said in her speech. "The center will recruit lawyers from around the country to donate their time to help these children."
