Cancer therapies based on an individuals genes should improve the chances of young patients returning to health, thanks to new research being carried out in Australia. Josh McCarroll, Cancer survivor says that treatments used to treat his cancer in his youth have left him with a heart condition. Australian scientists are currently researching the long term health prospects of people treated for cancers in their youth with a view to improving current therapies. Lesley Ashton, Children's Cancer Institute says that using information about people's genetic make-up can reduce the harm done by cancer drugs.
