In December of 2012, TFPF rescued Lily, three-year old Chihuahua, from the mean streets of Los Angeles. She had been mauled by a larger dog, and had multiple wounds to her abdomen. She also couldn't walk because her bones had debilitated from luxating patella in BOTH her hind legs. Her legs were never treated, and as a result, she gained a lot of weight from being immobile. TFPF rushed her to the emergency hospital, and had Lily treated for lump removal, spay surgery, dental work, luxating patella surgery in both her hind legs.
TFPF launched a social media campaign to find Lily the BEST possible home. This is when we crossed the path of the Young-Moss Family in Nottingham, U.K. This sweet couple was drawn to Lily's story, and was determined to give her a forever home. With the help of the RSPCA Nottingham, we were able to complete a preliminary home-check! The Young-Moss Family also had another Chihuahua (who was rescued from California), and a kitty brother in their home.
In July 2013, Team TFPF accompanied Lily to London via airplane. It was a long and arduous process -- getting Lily healthy again, screening adoption applications, and finally organizing a trip to London -- but everything was worth it for Lily. We are grateful to our corporate sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped us throughout this journey.
