The Australian dollar is currently trading at 69.23 US cents, up from the 69.19 US cents see on Christmas Eve.
The dollar also buys $1.042 New Zealand dollars down from $1.043 on Tuesday, 62.41 Euro cents from 62.37 cents, 53.37 British pence from 53.43 pence, and 75.72 Japanese yen from 75.64 yen.
